Unable to save edits to decision table from Excel

Summary



When a user opens a decision table in Excel for editing it opens properly. However, when the Excel file is saved it does not send the data back to Pega.


Error Messages



Not applicable.


Steps to Reproduce

  1. Edit a decision table rule in Excel.
  2. Save the Excel sheet.


Root Cause



A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment.  Macros were not enabled properly.

Resolution

  1. Change the Excel trust center settings for macros to "Disable all macros except digitally signed macros"
  2. Start IE, open Pega, and edit a rule in Excel.
  3. Once Excel opens, trust the Pega certificate by clicking on the "Enable Content" button.
 

Click Enable Content > Advanced:


4. Select the "Trust all documents from this publisher" option.
