Let’s start off by learning a bit more about your life prior to Pega. Where are you from originally and what is your educational background?
I’m from the Netherlands where I pursued an education in Business IT & Management. During my studies, you could see a growing need in the market for digital process automation. This growing need made me switch my focus to low-code modeling platforms and BPM solutions.

What motivated you to learn how to use Pega?
At my current job, I have the ability to view incoming job offers and monitor which jobs are on the rise. I noticed that there was a steady stream of Pega consultants needed in my country. This motivated me to research and study Pega. Now that I have finished the Pega CSA course, I have a new skill set that I’m excited to utilize. As a Pega consultant, I can now go to clients and implement change using the Pega platform.

How is Pega changing the organization where you work?
In recent months I’ve noticed that more developers in my organization are switching from a different platform to Pega. This is mainly because some other platforms are decreasing in popularity. We at CGI want to have a broad and current base of knowledge so that the needs from the market will be met.

What message or advice would you give to anyone who is considering a career as a Pega Developer?
If you’re interested in a platform that allows you to automate business processes and maintain all the surrounding topics to make that happen, then I can wholeheartedly suggest Pega to you. It will allow you to achieve everything you want from an application with little to no programming skills. When you’re stuck on an assignment, you can always ask questions via Pega Community or other online forums to see if others are having the same problems. I’ve found a lot of helpful tips so far!
