Meet Vimal

Let’s start off by learning a bit more about your life prior to Pega. Where are you from originally and what is your educational background?
I was born and raised in Mandvi, an Indian city in the state of Gujarat. I completed my Master of Computer Application from the University of Pune. Despite being hard-core developer, I was hired as a tester at a campus placement interview. I never thought of becoming a Pega developer until I was introduced to it and I realized how fast it is to develop an application using Pega PRPC.

What motivated you to learn how to use Pega?
It was when I first started at Zensar that I came across this powerful tool. I was fascinated by how it enables us to build software without writing thousands of lines of code. My motivation behind learning Pega was features like Low-Code App Development, Decision Management and Robotic Automation.

How has Pega shaped or impacted your career?
Going from Project Trainee to becoming a Senior Associate at one of the top MNC’s in India in such a short period of time is something like a dream come true for me. During this journey, I have earned Pega CSA and CSSA certifications through Pega Academy. With each certificate, more and more doors are opening for me and bringing along opportunities to deliver great value and accomplish my career goals.

How is Pega changing the organization where you work?
I have witnessed many legacy systems getting migrated to Pega because of its simplicity and powerfulness. Pega is enabling projects to be agile and fast on the front-end and stable and reliable on the back-end. That’s why business users are becoming more and more confident in Pega’s agility.

What message or advice would you give to anyone who is considering a career as a Pega Developer?
You can't know everything about Pega so make sure to continually ask questions to developers with more experience on the platform. Pega’s reputation continues to rise in the business world. If you want to be in high-demand, then I would encourage you to embrace the opportunity to learn Pega.
